| Actually I know some people who'd pay good money for whatever pill would make them see Korea like that. |

Oh my god... now I know where Korean women get all their fashion ideas from! It makes so much sense! |

| Korean fashion always reminds me of Jersey for some reason. |

Haha, when I first arrived in Korea to meet my girlfriend's family I called a friend of mine who jokingly asked me what it was like in the future (lame joke about korea's time zone being a day ahead) to which I replied "Well they dress like it's 20 years in the past." My girlfriend got defensive about it haha so I argued it just to pick at her. Anyway, I'm glad to see that others acknowledge how funny it is that they wear 80s fashion like it's something new and innovative. |

DUDE, I'VE SEEN RUFFLED TOPS OFF THE SHOULDER LIKE .....ONLY THE 80'S HAD COMBINES WITH SUEDE ROSETTED TOES ON SUEDE HIGH HEELS...THE MEN ARE ALL WEARING THE FRENCH TOAST MEMBERS ONLY JACKETS BUT IN PLEATHER NOW...When I wear my $600 bomber they freak like I'm conquering War Veteran and it's the 50's all over again....strangers touch it.....never seen real style I guess....it boggles the mind how behind they are....which reminds me---see many baby carseats? But don't they need to do lot crsh tests for all the cars they build and export? Yup. Welcome to the Twilight Zone. |

| I think its interesting that grown women will wear things that I wouldn't put on an 8 year old due to a healthy and protective fear of pedophiles. |

Really? I didn't think about it that way....But I guess the Disney and teddy bear wear could attract a certain type on NON KOREAN MAN. This thread is really about their ERA CONFUSION THOUGH. That's the problem we're illuminating. The immaturity thing, and the doodling over their photos, and the GOLDFISH CHEEKS....That's not confined to an era as much as it is a biological age. |

OMG, They DO dress differently on the other side of the world!
Like, okay, I could see that this would be a stupid thing to be posting about IF PEOPLE WERE MAKING FUN OF KOREAN TRADITIONAL DRESS!
No one is poking fun of the hanbok though, they are simply entertaining themselves.
So, mister apologist, you can now think about something more important...I'm sure that there is something more important than fashion in your life. |

Well before I came here, I was working with an 83 yr old former lawyer. He's from Boston, had the Kennedy accent. He hadn't seen a group of Koreans since he was in the Korean war. I told him they have HUGE heads and often narrow dental arches combined with very wide spread out eyes...like one on each side of their heads. I said like aliens, greys, reticulans.... And and THE SAME EXACT TIME WE BOTH SAID.....NO LIKE GOLDFISH!!!! It was the wierdest moment, never forget it. It was like the bobsy twins, or like we were both Lindsay Lohan in the Parent Trap for a split second. So, I think they subconsciously know this. That's my answer. They want to be more of it.
Oh and they think a chiseled jawline is unattractive, even on men. They asked me many times in my school when I said, "he is handsome" (why do they always ask who is the most handsome and most pretty?) to a teacher they say, he should remove the corners of his jaw!!! And they ask if I think it looks masculine...I am in disbelief usually, too shocked to answer. But when I do, they say, "no it doesn't it looks ugly"! "Great, Ok" I say.
They like fat faces and big heads on thin bodies, it is bizarre.
