Does anyone know how to go about getting voice over work in Korea? I'm not particulary interested in being on camera, but I've been told I have a nice voice and might be interested in trying voice over/animation work some time. |

2.3 salary? Odd, considering that the going rate for ESL recording now ranges from 50-100K an hour (50 minutes, actually, and a 10 minute break per hour). That company must be taking a major chunk of the profits.
For a newbie, the only thing you can do is to try and find an agent, though. Without an F Series visa, you'll be working illegally, and will probably be caught, fined, and deported, at least if anyone doing legal work finds out about you. |

Is it possible for a talent agent to sponsor an E-6 series visa for a foreigner? I'm asking because I'm looking into getting into voice work full time, since the money (50 - 100k an hour) looks really good and I have tons of prior experience and training in the field.
If an agent is unable to sponsor someone, are there any major corporations or agencies that offer E-6 sponsorship? Or is there any other means of working in that industry full time? |

An agent can sponsor you, but there aren't too many 'voice actor agents' in Seoul (maybe 4?). Plus, they have to be legit agents who maintain an office in order to qualify as a sponsor.
If you have experience, the recommendations, and the demo work to go along with it, you could invest 50 million and start up your own company. It's been done before by voice actors.
Good luck. Let us know how it pans out. |
