PS. Anybody know where i can possibly find job for Mandarin Chinese AND English teacher? I understand there is a demand for chinese in korea now.

Most jobs for Chinese teachers are strictly for written Chinese, and you need to be able to speak Korean fluently. Of the few people I've worked with who taught Chinese, only one taught actual spoken Chinese and that was for adults working in Immigration.

Now if they could just learn English....

My boyfriend and I are in the midst of using Footprints... We are about to apply, with the three letters of recommendation and all. I will let you guys know how it goes... Good luck to all. (And good luck to us! I'm still very skeptical of recruiters from all I've read--I just figure, make sure to check out the school's rep. and talk to former teachers)

Scott: I assume that you have a Korean wife, then? The reason I'm asking(if I may) is that I thought you were the guy w/NET & near the top of the pay scale. Other than family, why in the hell would you leave that to come back here? Hope I'm not being nosy-I'm just genuinely puzzled....

Hi I have been in Korea for 3 moinhts and I went with Morning Calm Recruiting to find me a job here, they have an office in Canada in BC and they are also present in Korea. My recruiter is named Natalia Kim, and she was really straight up with me. I can't complain about the school she placed me at. She also lived in Canada for 20 odd years so her english is perfect, so you know she understands your questions and can answer them properly.

Their email address is [email protected]

Hope this helps

I am not a full fledged recruiter, but I am looking to freelance a bit in my spare time. I am living in Korea currently and came upon this opportunity through a friend here.

I am meeting with them next week.

Feel free to contact me..... I speak english and live in Seoul.

For my present contract I contacted Footprints, they're very professional but all they could offer me was YBM schools since it seems they deal alot with them. And since the majority of YBM schools offer crap pay and split shifts it wasn't ideal.

So I went with INTO Korea. They were great for me, but I've heard others have had problems.

Just bumping to see if anyone else has experiences to share regarding Footprints.

I just applied and hopefully they can get me in somewhere decent in Seoul... I'd rather be there than here right now that's for sure. Razz

Stunte Wookie on the board is a recruiter based in Busan. He's originally from Eastern Canada. Nice guy. I would highly recommend him. Check out

ETIK is also a good recruiter in Busan, at least for a few teachers I know around here. State what you want. They deal with a lot of hagwons in the southern regions and have produced some happy customers.

Good luck, whatever.

Has anyone any info on M&M Recruitment? I'm a recent graduate waiting for my diploma and have contacted 3 different recruiters. M&M is the only one who contacted me back, and explained that I had to have the diploma. There reply was very warm and seemed sincere, should I buy it?
