I finish my contract on friday and e-2 visa runs out on saturday. I have a new job with the same company different location. I went to immigration today to get my e-2 visa switched to the othere school. They said i couldn't do that as they don't switch visa's between hagwons. I now apparently have to go to japan to renew. They said all i need to give them was my uni transcripts no criminal check. Does this sound right? Any advice experiences help would be appreciated. |

Whether right or wrong, I'd advise you to follow the immi's instruction. |

It's correct. New school = New Visa, it doesn't matter if you are working for the same company or not because your visa is contingent on the school where you work. You can get your new visa issuance number here in Korea, but you have to go out of the country to receive the visa. Get your company to pay for the flight, and maybe take a couple of days and tool around in Japan. |
