I was there. The no show appointment became a disappointment. |

i could tell the minute I walked up to the station that something was a wrong. It was either an immigration search/ investigation.....a TV filming across the street all the "illegals" looking for work.........or lastly........some ass trying to trick us (all of us). |

I walked past on my way home from dinner...and saw the milling crowd of foreigners who were standing on the same corner, yet trying very hard not to look at each other. I thought maybe it was a poorly arranged flashmob. What was it? |

Have just been looking through the email correspondance I had with 'Jason'........
I asked him for his phone number and he replied that he'd lost it last weekend!! (first red flag)
He wanted to meet at 8p.m Saturday night at Hongdae station for an interview!! (second red flag)
He mispelt a few english words in his email, so naturally I thought hos english was poor being Korean (fair enough I guess), but he spelt Hongdae station in hangul as 헝대!! (third red flag)
haha, this leads me to the conclusion it was a prank by a fellow foreigner.
Like I said in my OP, i was just glad I just live round the corner.
Sure the guy(s) who planned it were there having a good laugh! |

Spelt is a grain. The past tense of spell is "spelled." |

@Big Ben
Both spelled and spelt are acceptable forms of the past tense of spell. |

Depending on where you are in the world, spelt is a perfectly fine replacement for spelled. http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/spell_1?view=uk |

Big Ben - pwned ...which is past tense for you got your [Mod Edit] handed to you for being a [Mod Edit] and pointing out someone's spelling mistake incorrectly on a public internet forum without contributing to the conversation |

I was there and part of that crew. I live in the HBC and didn't have concrete plans that night, so swinging by was nothing for me (like the red flags someone posted before, I had a feeling that this had like an 80% chance of being some sort of scam, but said "what the hell"). That said, a LOT of people came from really far away, and set aside things they were otherwise going to do that night (being a saturday). Overall, pretty crappy thing to do, and I'm guessing another foreigner did it since most Koreans don't even realize that voice acting is a job. |
