Dear Fellow Americans in Korea:
Exciting news! Beginning the first work day of March (March 2, 2010) the ACS Unit will make appointments available online for routine services like passports, Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications, and notarials. We expect that the development of this appointment system will significantly improve our customer service.
For years we have served our customers on a walk-in, first come first served basis. However, depending on the number of people who come at the same time, this can lead to wait times of an hour or more for service. An appointment system will allow those customers who schedule appointments in advance to be seen at a set time, thereby minimizing their stay in the Embassy. We know your time is valuable, and we believe appointments will make our services to you more efficient.
Of course we will continue to serve our citizens who come into the Embassy without appointments. Additional details of the new appointment system are provided below and will also be available soon on our Website and in other messages we will be sending out.
We are always pleased to hear from American citizens, so please feel free to let us know what you think about an appointment system or any other aspect of our service.
