I'm planning on spending New Years Eve and New Years Day in Seoul. Where is the best place or places to go on New Years in Seoul?

I know that's not a proper answer to the question, but I will spend NY in Bangkok filled up with overpriced beer and covered by overpriced and underdressed easy women (or whatever passes for one).

Korean discount airline "Jin Air" has cheap flights to Bangkok from 21st December onwards (starting at under 200,000 Won) so there's no excuse not to leave the country!

+1 for that

The gathering isn't actually at City Hall, a couple of blocks away at Bosin-Gak (right next to the crazy looking Samsung building) If you follow the Chungecheung stream from its source you'll see the crowds. It is the best atmosphere, lots of people letting off fireworks, and you can take alcohol in too. Only thing is, after midnight the crowd disperses pretty quickly so there's not really any afterparties.
