|
|
I was wondering if anybody has had experience with this particular Consulate? I sent my documents last Thursday, and they arrived Monday. Haven't heard a single thing from them: I called and left a message as well as emailed them. The person I talked to in the visa division last week told me they would call me to let me know if I would need an interview or not and told me processing would take only 2-3 days. She suggested that I send my documents first as I live a few hours away from SF. Any information would be much appreciated! |

Wow! They processed my documents in two days. There was no interview. They even gave me the option of mailing them in since I lived in Oakland (so far..12 miles away). In addition, they asked for my original transcripts, but since Korean immi. had them they accepted a photocopy from the recruiter. Perhaps your criminal background check had some hits. |

I would think not. I received my number from Immigration in less than 4 days and that is with a small complication. I don't know what the issue is with the Consulate, or my application. I even gave them an original transcript (since I ordered multiple copies as my university gives them out for free to fourth years).
My guess is it may be the fact that I didn't put a self-addressed prepaid envelope in there as I thought I would need an interview. I wouldn't mind going to go pick it up either as I was thinking of going to San Francisco anyways. |

they always processed mine in about 4 days. make sure to keep bugging them about the interview, to make sure. although, the last time i went they said i needed to have an interview. when i showed up for the interview the following week, they said it wasn`t necessary.. nice! lol. Where in Korea are you headed? I lived in SF. I miss it. |

Thanks! As I discovered, it was all ready to go since last week. I had to keep calling them and finally got through. I didn't need an interview, which I thought I would. They processed it within a day O.o. Insane. I just picked it up this morning.
I am headed to Masan City. Not too big and not too small. Where are you may I ask? Anyways, one question though. On the visa on the 'ENTRIES' section mine says 'S'. I thought it was meant to be multiple instead of single? So confused :S. |

The S means single entry, which is weird becuase i thought as US citizens, we get Multiple entries. So this just means you have to get permission to leave the country for vacation from immigration before you go. Im going to be in Seoul, im not sure were ill live yet, put proberly near iteawan or sinchon, somewhere cheap! good luck in Masen city. South Korea is an interesting experience. Make sure to go to a norebong sometime. |
