Do any of you public school teachers miss having a proper bell? We have some bizzare little ditty on our school bell at present it bloody sucks as half the time I don't hear it.

It is probably better than some of those stupid hagwon song bells.

I get to rock out to Home On The Range at least 12 times a day myself. At least it isn't Jingle Bells. That would drive me nuts especially just after the holiday season has passed. I wonder why they choose these songs, and if there is some sort of catalog out there to choose the bell tone. Wonder if some school has Greensleeves or London Bridge or Old MacDonald or what. I wonder if the art and music schools get to here the theme from Carmen or La Boheme or Beethoven.

I've dealt with 'Home on the Range' & 'Greensleeves.' New school does an assortment of classical riffs, some are mellow but some are frenetic.

Hello, Crazy Lemon Girl!

Yes, the п where I work now has bells.
Sometimes they play the Westminster Chimes and sometimes they play The Maiden's Prayer.

At the hagwan I worked at my first year here, we had a hockey buzzer to signal the beginning and end of classes.

Every hawgwon I have ever worked at has had a gay song bell.

My high school doesn't have a bell which is great. I think I couldn't have endured a bell much longer than the 3 yrs I did hawgwons.

Bells?

Bells? I'm at my second hagwon, and this is the first I've heard of ANY sort of organised timekeeping device. Frankly, I like it that way - my classes NEVER start/finish on time.

Amen to that!

If I wanted to be told exactly when and where and why and who and how... I'd have gone to Japan. Very Happy
