I am confused about the Korean cell phone system. Can anyone shed some light on it?
In the US I had a 2 year contract with Verizon, where I paid around $50 or $60 a month. Each month I had unlimited in-network calling, 400 peak minutes for calling phones not on verizon, unlimited nights and weekends, and 250 text messages to any network.
Do they have any plans similar to that in Korea? I mean where you pay a certain amount each month and you get x number of minutes, x number of texts, etc. When I tried to get a cell phone last night, the salesman only quoted me a plan where I paid a monthly fee simply to have the phone (It was very low), but then I had to pay for each minute and text I used.
Also, I am not really interested in doing the prepaid phone idea.
I apologize if this has been covered before, but I couldn't seem to find an exact answer to my question. Any help is appreciated........... |

There are some plans, but they are no where near as comprehensive (or annoying) as plans in the US. Like I pay 30,000 a month and that includes 200 calls, but no texts. Texts are separate, but its so cheap here that it never really adds up too much. Also, incoming calls are always free. |
