I have recently secured a teaching job in Korea, due to start in January. I have all my documents ready for visa application. However, I was slightly unnerved yesterday when I came across this advice on a recruiter's website:

Unfortunately, my name on my degree/transcripts does not include my two middle names, whereas my passport and CBC do. I rang my university to ask whether I could get new copies containing my full name. They told me they weren't sure, that the person responsible for such enquiries was away until next week, and in any case it's quite a time-consuming and expensive process getting a new certificate.
The question is, am I wasting my time? Is Korean immigration really so picky? I don't really want to wait to get new documents (which I may not be able to get anyway) because it will delay me applying for a visa. Does anyone have any experience (or heard of anyone who has) of having their visa rejected because of name inconsistency on their documents? |

| Korean immigration is filled with idiots. Somewhere on this board there's a sticky about a man being rejected because his degree had a middle name but his passport didn't. Depends on the official and the day. If you warn your director in advance maybe they can make phone calls or draft a letter to submit (or be ready to appeal). |

| My degree only has only one of my two middle names. It's never been a problem. |

my uni records don't mention any of my middle names and it wasn't an issue.
I wouldn't worry. Just keep writing all new documentation to the name as it is on your passport. |

Just ask for a different Kim to help you 
If they can't accept you cause you might be someone else, maybe they should play by their own rules. They can't even tell if a name is male or female. |
