What is the procedure for applying for a job without using a recruiter. All the jobs I see posted are through recruiters. I am using a recruiter to find a job but I would also like to look for jobs directly with the school.
How have some of you found your jobs? |

Unless you are IN Korea or speak Korean, or have contacts here there is virtually no chance of landing a job in Korea without using a recruiter.
IF you are lucky (or unlucky - depending on the chain/franchise) you may find a school trying a direct hire and placing ads (like on here) but that doesn't happen very often and it is usually the big chains (YBM, ECC, etc.) that do.

I believe that E Bo Young also hires directly through their web-site...if you're looking for a hagwon job that is. |

I wouldn't hurt to let the recruiters have a go. POLY and YBM don't use recruiters for main branch academies, but their HR departments will ignore you every bit as much as a recruiter. Based on my recent experience, a lot of them are at least good for a laugh before they go away. |

I got my first job by replying to an ad placed by the school on this site. Recruiter ads far outweigh ads placed directly by the schools but keep checking the site every day and you should find some. Also, if you don't mind being bombarded by emails from recruiters, try putting up your resume. I got about 25 emails from recruiters, some I've never heard of, but I did get a response from one or two people hiring for their schools. It might be worth a try. |
