...so I notice I am low on toilet paper, and I'm thinking about how I need to buy some while I am out... then I start thinking about whether or not I am going to renew again at the end of my current contract, because I don't want to be leaving a cupboard full of TP if I leave... but my contract isn't up for another 8 months... man, they sell TP in huge bricks here!

How long does one of those sofa-sized bundles of TP last you folks?

LOL.. you can go to your local corner shop and buy one roll at a time. It costs something like 200 won a roll.. may be they will sell you 5 rolls.

"...yes, Boss, I have decided to renew my contract yet again -- I just have too durned much toilet paper left to leave it to the new guy -- but be assured, I will be stealing rolls from the school at the end of the NEXT contract!"

you can buy a smaller brick. The hard part is finding some that doesn't have dyes or perfumes. I had to ask the clerk for help and she didn't speak any English, so I found a bottle of perfume and made the universal sign for no with my arms crossed and after several rounds of this, I bought a big brick of unscented TP. I'm allergic to many fragrances and dyes, and scented TP is sorta ridiculous isn't it?

LOL I've had similar thoughts lately, coz I'm moving and don't want to lug a brick of TP. But I'm going to have to use what I have very sparingly for the next few weeks...
어떡해?? 어~떡하냐고??
And no, I won't be buying that cheap nasty stuff from the local sooper, I'm all about the Cody hwangto 3-ply with the bears on it!! Nothing but the best!...unless I run out, and then it's nothing but nothing... Laughing

But when you buy in bulk it's cheaper. OP I known exactly what you mean. Either try rationing your existing toilet paper you have so you can get through the next 8 months (one or two seets a day) or whenever you go to a restaurant stock up on a healthy supply of napkins....and watch this problem of yours be "wiped" away Smile

Why is Korean Toilet paper so large?

Because it's 휴지.

Steal some or buy individual rolls from a corner store.

Isn't toilet paper a trifle cheap to worry about leaving some?

You can always give it away. I love getting things for free. I bet I am not alone in that.

I buy the single 950 won roll - It's thick, smells nice and lasts about 2 weeks.

Yes, it is indeed a trifle. I mean, I prolly will renew again anyway, but it was a thought that ran through my head, and I thought that it was funny that the tipping point on the scale was "yeah, I may as well stay another year -- after all, I still got all this toilet paper...."

...and Bondrock, I actually laughed at that... but it may be the lack of coffee in my system....
