Any tips on how to do this? I intend to finish my contract in March and start school in Korea in April. I am hoping to do this without leaving the country but wasn't sure of the logistics and legalities...Where do I begin? |

Call immigration. Once you've paid and registered with a Korean school capable of sponsoring your visa take that and some other docs to immigration and you can change it on the spot. |

Take in your letter of student registration from the university or education institute you will be studying at. Also take your passport, ARC card, a bank statement or your bank book showing a healthy balance (the exact amount required is somewhere on the immigration website from memory) and anything else you can think of. I did this nearly 10 months ago so I can't remember all the docs I had to take in, but contrary to everything I read on the Internet I did not have to leave the country and got my E2 changed to a student D visa within 20 minutes of entering immigration in Seoul. |
