|
|
Hi, I am probably going to be starting a new session of classes in the next few weeks and will be focussing on reading or writing (not decided yet).
I remember seeing a link to a very good site full of reading materials the other week but I have forgotten the address. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations? I am teaching High Schoolers by the way... |

Dr. Rob Waring has a lot of great info about extensive reading here:

I am trying to get my high school to set up a reading class. From the little research I've done so far, Penguin's Readers seem to have the biggest selection. There are level tests on the website too, which help you choose the right graded books for your students. Check it out:

Here's a site I helped with ... Tarheel reader. http://tarheelreader.org
Originally for special education students in the states but really great for EFL students. I've highlighted here before...
You might try English Central - http://englishcentral.com I've been consulting for them, helping to build a teacher's area where teachers can invite students and track/grade them. I'll be requesting super teachers to test it out shortly.... it is damn amazing technology (whole language!).
