Seoul National has the following ad for a part time job:

THE LANGUAGE EDUCATION INSTITUTE AT SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY IS NOW HIRING A NEW PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR TO TEACH ENGLISH COURSES FOR A SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR MANAGERS AND EXECUTIVES OF PUBLIC CORPORATIONS.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Native or bilingual English speaker
2. Master��s degree from an English-speaking country
3. Dedicated, responsible person who loves to teach and can work with us for many years to come
4. A BS or BA will be qualified, too, if the applicant has previous teaching experience at the college level.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. To teach English Conversation/Listening/Writing classes for managers/executives of public corporations
2. Teaching hours : Monday through Thursday 13:30-15:00
3. Payment : 41,250 Won /hour
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. Cover letter
2. Resume
3. Official academic transcripts (from all the institutions of higher education you have attended)
4. Two letters of recommendation (if possible, one from your former employer)
5. Photocopy of the first page of your passport
6. Two passport-size photos
7. (In case you already reside in Korea) photocopy of Alien Registration Card or Residence Report for Koreans with Foreign Citizenship
PROCEDURE
1. Application documents review
2. Mock lecture and interview (Candidates selected for interviews following the resume review process will receive individual notice of the interview schedule.)

REMINDER
In addition to the application material, the finalist will be required to submit the following documents before he or she signs the contract under the Korean immigration law:
1. Certificate of academic degree: original diploma, photocopy of original diploma verified and signed by a Korean consul, or certificate of degree officially issued by the degree-granting institution
2. Criminal record check certified by an appostille, notarized by a notary public, or issued directly by a Korean embassy/consulate
(For Canadian citizens, the criminal record check must include ��vulnerable sector screening.��)
3. Sealed copy of official academic transcripts
Since the immigration process may take considerable time, we advise applicants to prepare these documents in advance.

I am aware that a school can ask for whatever it wants in order to hire you, but this is just a part-time gig paying around 1.3 million a month.
What it asks for is par to a full-time position. |

I am aware that a school can ask for whatever it wants in order to hire you, but this is just a part-time gig paying around 1.3 million a month.
What it asks for is par to a full-time position. |
and its only 40 an hour. All you people that are going to chime in about working at Mcdonald's blablahblah, no need to respond. I know that is a good wage. However, in this market, it is average. For those qualifications, they should be paying 70. If they are requiring all that for an interview for a part-time job, imagine what their expectations will be for the classes! "we all want to be fluent in English after 3 months." |
