I can't seem to post anything on the international jobs forum of this site.... so I'm wondering if anyone has any information on teaching in Brunei, what it's like for a westerner to live there etc.
Thanks for any info |

It's Muslim. Probably high cost of living. No alcohol except in very select places. English market? Not sure. |

Most of the jobs in Brunei are in primary and secondary schools (at least the ones regularly advertised). Not much of uni/private institute teaching. You have to be teacher-certified (or at least hold a BEd) from the UK/NZ/Canada/SA/ Ireland in addition to EFL experience and they do NOT accept/hire US citizens.
If you fit that bill, check out CfBT-Brunei. They're the primary recruiting agent for most of the jobs there. It looks like a sweet gig (salaries about 3000 US and up with awesome housing) and Malaysia is right next door for getaways. |
