Why do they attempt to deceive you ?
I do not know.
Why do they attempt to coral you into a position you do not want?
I do not know.

Honest recruiters are rare.
Has anyone any honest recruiters for newbies to share.
A new job I have already found, straight to the school, with no
help from a recruiter was around.
Happy I am, with pay above grade, I hope you will share,
recruiters that can make the grade.
For the new folks and all.
Speak your mind, be honest,
but be positive in it all.
_+_+
Wes

Why do they deceive you?
They think you are dumb

Why do they attempt to coral you into a position you do not want?
They think you won't know the difference

Honest recruiters are rare.
Yes. Yes they are.

Nice prose

Thanks mate.
Appreciated.
Thought we could use a good recruiter spread.
Calling all posters, calling all posters.
Be positive and drill down. Post your favorite recruiter.

The answer to your first two questions is that they get more money as a recruiting fee from some places, and so try to push those more however they can.. by deceiving you and/or by trying to push you into a position you don't want.

theres a recruiter that posts on gaijinpot occasionally, damn it if i cant remember their name...

<runs off to check>

H and S Korea (Hands Korea). They were not only nice, but went above and beyond in my opinion. Trouble was they were pipped at the post and got me a public school gig (despite being almost exclusively hagwon recruiter) just outside seoul with a school that looked ridiculously good. seriously, i actually felt guilty telling them i couldnt take the job. I just didnt expect they were actually working their butts off for me. I thought they were probably just rolling in their fees and throwing out whatever turned up Smile I was actually trying to let them down gently by stressing that i would only consider a public school job (since theyd told me they didnt deal with public schools all that often), so when they found i thought "dang! im a jerk!"
