Go to Kwang Jang Shi Jang - a market area at the north west end of the Dongdaemun area - Jongno 4ga. There are a couple covered streets and there you'll find a number of tailors (and some good mandu guk).
With my Korean girlfriend doing the bargaining we found that I could get an all wool suit made for 170,000 - 140,000 for non wool
The best price I could bargain to in Itaewon was 300,000.
I ended up going to another market (can't remember the name) it is a long building along the south side of Cheongyecheon - it ends at Dongdaemun station. There I bought a pre-made, non-wool suit which was 90,000 - including adjusting the pants and jacket arms.
If your really tall you wont be able to find anything pre-made - for reference sake I'm 6'2'' with very long arms and I just barely found something that would fit.
Try to bring along a Korean for bargaining power. |
