|
|
So I went into the local RCMP station, filled out a form, including asking for a VSS, and had a piece of paper (no charge) ten minutes later. Will this do?
Is the "A name search based on the above information has not disclosed a sexual offence etc" the Vulnerable Sector Bit? Or is it the "Protected A" security designation?
It says in caps (twice) NAME CHECK ONLY - NOT SUPPORTED BY FINGERPRINTS. Problem?
Sorry for an often repeated type of question, but I've spent about an hour searching through old threads and can't find a definitive answer. Can I just get this thing notarized and send it off to the Korean Consulate?
Thanks in advance for any advice. |

I didn't think mine had enough information, either. I asked questions here, but didn't get any response.
So, I sent mine to the Consulate in Montreal for notarization and got it back. I didn't receive any notice that it isn't good enough, and I'm assuming the big stamp on the back written in Korean means it's notarized....
I know... it seems too easy, but, I guess that's all they want. |

| For safety's sake, I did it both the quick RCMP detachment way and the long mail-to-Ottawa-with-fingerprints way and immigration accepted the quick way and I had my work visa an entire month before the Ottawa route CRC came in the mail! |

| I got mine at a local Ontario police station and it was one piece of paper reporting that I had no record. Immigration accepted it no problem. |

From what I understand, the fingerprint check is only necessary if somebody with the same name as you comes up with a record (even though other fields like birthdate and address, etc, are different). I could be mistaken.
My CRC was the same way, though. Just a boring sheet of paper. |
