I love cheese and it is one of the things I miss the most from home.

I really miss a good extra mature cheddar cheese along with Gorwydd Caerphilly.

What cheese do you miss the most from home?

Good bulgarian feta and it's only about $5/lb. in the states.

Beaufort, Labneh (though I'm going to try making my own), but most of all, I miss choice.

Bingo. Choice of cheese, choice of beer, choice of bread, choice of pasta...

The Yongsan I-Park Emart sells a decent feta, not that jar of little Danish feta in marinade, but a block of feta that has a nice, tangy (if somewhat mild) flavor. It costs about 10000 won for a small block of 180 grams. It's in the cheese case in the wine section of the store. They have some wildly expensive goat cheese there, too. And a few other cheeses that are at least a little off the beaten track for Korea, Haloumi and some others.

Labneh is just yogurt, so you can easily make that at home. Just add salt to unflavored yogurt and strain it in cheesecloth until it's at the consistency you like, and pour a little olive oil on it.

Red Leicester. I've seen it from time to time, but not regularly.

Most of those can be found at Hyundai Department store or Lotte or E-Mart, as well as the foreigner specialty stores here. Do some digging and you're bound to get a hit.

I miss Velveeta Shells & Cheese. Win Schuler's Bar Cheese and Alouette Cheese Spread. Everything else here I seem to have found a reasonable facsimile.

And fresh salsa, not that jarred crap.

Thanks Lynns for the feta tip!

I'm like a lot of people here and get most of my cheese at Costco.

I would like to find a specialty shop someplace that has good variety, but thats easier said than done.
