several of the hardcore Korean guys in my gym have figured out that they need to consume more protein than in your usual Korean rice and kimchi diet (though in my opinion they haven't tilted hard enough which is why they're not getting as muscular as they'd like)
the guy who works behind the desk was eating something the other day and as I walked by I look at what it was inquisitively and he said "chicken" (he speaks very limited English). I gave him the big thumbs up and kind of explained I eat chicken breast almost every day.
He said he can get frozen chicken breasts directly delivered.. and at the price he quoted me.. 5800 won per kilo, that's easily 33-50% off E-mart prices. (I'm sure he took a small cut for himself, but so what?) I ordered 2 kilos to try it out... thawed each kilo out as necessary and it was eaten in less than 2 weeks. The key is it was damn tasty too.
At a highly reduced price.
If you have any Korean friends... or someone who can help you out with this, I'd recommend looking into it.
I believe the maker is Harim Chicken. |

| Chicken breasts are about that price in Costco usually. Price goes up and down alarmingly though. |

| Ive seen a few weightlifters eat a lot of salmon. But most serious weightlifters use protein powder. |

| Not sure what the big deal is op?!? All you need to do is stroll into any Korean supermarket and check out the price and see that chicken breast is always around that price. |

Chicken breasts...
Hanaro Mart - ~5000W for 500g
Kim's Club (commonly in Newcore Outlet), same weight for ~7000W.
I go with Hanaro...lots of them around, great prices if you're willing to go native. |

too expensive.
look at blackjack's post/link. That pricing is comparable - 5700 won a kilo. I paid 5800. Your prices are similar to what I pay at E-mart.
btw.. I answered your pm. |

what "Korean supermarket" do you refer to?
I don't see chicken breasts in the local stores.. the small supermarkets.
Also, it's understood that such things are always slightly cheaper at a place like E-mart.
My post had to do with finding them at up 40% less than E-mart's prices.
I didn't know G-market sold them. Great link blackjack, thank you. |

Salmon and chicken are a sure bet as they have better bioavailability than red meats. For realistic gains you need to supplement these meats with protein shakes as well. All in all it becomes a costly game, and as I realized a few years back, decent girls aren't really into the beefcake look. |
