I've nearly killed myself a few times on the stairs wearing slippers.

Anyone allowed to wear regular shoes inside their public school? If so, do you have issues from others (i.e. teachers or students) for doing so?

I asked my co-teacher about wearing regular shoes inside (not dress shoes, cause the school is way too dirty due to construction) the school. Her reply, "Slippers."

I never wear slippers. Never told and I don't care to. Makes no difference as the school itself is as dirty as outside. Same goes for every classroom no matter how much times the students rub that black mop over the floors.

Do you wear your outdoor shoes inside, or do you change into different shoes when you enter the school?

Outdoor shoes. The only time I would change would be summertime into sandals.

My school doesn't make me change my shoes, but I've been yelled at visiting other public schools. I assume if they yell at a mere visitor, I would be required to wear slippers if I worked there.

The vice principal tries to make this an "issue" with the students, but it's really dumb. It's a boarding school with no uniforms. The kids wear whatever shoes they feel like wearing. Quite frankly, the slippers make them fall a lot when they run around and half of them forget to change back when they go outside so the slippers are just as dirty as their normal shoes.

I wear whatever shoes I want. Actually, I take that back. The first day I wore heels and they told me not to wear them anymore because they aren't comfortable enough.

I wear regular shoes because I don't work a regular 8:30-4:30 job. When I did (last year), I bought indoor shoes. They weren't the slippers, but those 10,000 won pairs they sell at the street stores.

There was less wear on my regular shoes and more comfortable than those slippers.

I wear my regular shoes indoors. I should change into something different to save the wear on my shoes but I don't. It's a hard habit to get into for me. No one has ever said anything to me.

Yep, I've got the black mop cleaning method as well.

I wear regular shoes, but I leave them at school each day and change into them when I get there so they are only indoor shoes. I couldn't walk all day in slippers.

I wear slippers. Actually, they're crocs. Damn comfortable and perfectly fine with me. If your school and teachers have a slippers rule, wear them. It's a sign of respect. If you've got troubles with that simple rule, god forbid what else you're going to whine and gnash your teeth about. Keep in mind, slippers is a very general word. Prioritize what you really need to worry about.

You can wear anything you want, as long as it isn't your outdoor shoes.

Buy a cheap pair of sneakers and just wear that inside your school.
