SO, I teach 1/2 hours of kindergarten every morning before heading onto my elementary classes. The problem lies with me not being the full time kinder teacher, 2 korean teachers and an American teacher are the kinder rulers. Im just a sidekick really. So i dont really have a say in what they learn or do, im just told what they are working on and GO.

In two classes i teach them from a workbook they have actually finished but im supposed to go over again. Mianly because they have no other book to do with them right now.The youngest in Korean years is 4.5yrs so 3.5 to us. They are tiny and insane and DO NOT want to learn the same crud they have been learning over the past few months. Oh and did i mention i only have 4 kids. Yeah, 4. Thats a terrible number for good games and such. I try songs and dancing BUT the 2 girls love it and the 2 boys just want to destroy each other.

I need advice on what kinds of things i can do with the little monsters. I do love the kindergarteners but as i teach older kids usually i feel lost with such young children.

I just need some games or something to keep their attention for at least 20minutes. Preferablly learning games? something fun that the other teachers cant pick at for not being educational

Thanks everyone.

Play Koala's ABC Chant (Youtube). Hand out alphabet cards and get the kids to hold up their letters when they appear on the chant. Also, get them to memorize the words associated with the letters...

Ahhh... gotta go. I'm sure you can take it from there if you're intested.

Good luck.

I actually have a friend who was telling me something similar she did with her little ones. Using flash cards while watching something "fun". They loved it.

picture sorts(something like seperate pet and zoo animals),letter sorts (big and small) i spy, charades, puppets, songs(how's the weather? My name, Farmer in the Dell, head, shoulders knees and toes), hot and cold game, Read a story book or big book every day, coloring, painting, practice writing your name, christmas songs, paper snowflakes, classroom mural, family words, family tree, school rules, tour of the school, emotions(making masks? decorating cookies?)

Think of a theme, colors, animals, food, family, school and work from there.
Good luck!

Hello, Macattack!

Curious About Korea was right!
Since I started keeping count, 42 other people have started threads with questions similar to yours.
These threads contain most of my own ideas, as well as oodlums of other ideas submitted by other veterans of the battle.

Enjoy:

The next time someone asks, this will become thread number 43.
