Have you ever heard of I Love English in Daechi-dong?
www.ileschool.com
I have an interview with this hagwon tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone's every heard of it/worked there. From what the recruiter told me, they pay really, really well (5 million a month), but expect you to work crazy long hours. Apparently it's also one of the older and more enduring hagwons in the area with a good rep, and they are expanding to a second branch these days.
Anybody got anything on this school? Thanks. |

you have to work monday-saturday's and spend about 2-3 hours prepping for your classes. they pay well but do not offer housing but in return will give you 10 million won in key money. they offer 50 million/year so if you do the math it's not that much money. they only give you 5 days of vacation/year. pm me if you have more questions |

Daechi-dong is probably the most expensive area in Seoul.
5 million for key money = you'll need it.
Live close by and pay the bomb in rent or live far away (somewhere else) and have a horror commute to work.
In places like that you get Very wealthy stay-at-home mommies who have unrealistically high expectations and too much time on their hands who will interfere and spoil their rotten children. There are so many hagwons in that area, retaining students for more than a couple of months is a nightmare.
It is not a good deal as you think. Would work out the same (or worse) as a run of the mill hagwon in the outer suburbs that provides housing.
It would be a no for me.[/b] |

I don't recommend this school. Salary may seem high, but they will pay you only 25% of the gross tuition for some crazy hours. The rest goes into the pockets of the owner. They consider all teachers expendable. If you value having a life, stay away. |
