Here's a great discussion on search engines and Facebook. Did you know that these sites track your computer and then tailor the search results of your searches instead of giving you the most important results? You and your friend could type "Korea" in the Google search engine and each get totally different results.
Google itself track something like 57 different types of info on you including your I.P. address, what kind of computer you have, and how long you hover over a link.
Facebook deleted 2 of the speaker's friends without his asking. The reason: he didn't click on them enough.
Google wants to intrude an app called Google Wallet which you track what you spend your money on.

Ummm....I'm guessing the dude's friends removed him rather than Facebook removing them as friends, perhaps because he was clogging up their newsfeeds with too many conspiracy theories.

I think people will gradually start moving away from Google once something new comes up.

This reminds me a blog post I read recently. Seth Roberts, a former professor of psychology at Berkeley who now teaches in China, wrote about his experience with Google getting and using his credit card information even though he never gave that information to Google:
Quote:
Last week, while looking at Google Voice I noticed a button that said Get $10″. I thought it meant get $10 credit for trying it so I pushed the button. Ten dollars credit showed up. Since Google Voice is free for the calls I make I had no use for $10 credit but maybe someday.
A few days later I happened to look at my credit card bill. Google had billed me $10! I didnt even know they knew my credit card number! It hadnt been required for the $10 transaction. I havent consciously used Google Checkout. I havent given it to them in any other connection. Talk about data mining
When I go to Account Settings listed under my Gmail address, one of the sections is My Products, meaning My Google Products. Under that is listed Google Checkout, although Ive never signed up for it and (I thought) never used it. So why is it there? I looked in Google Checkout. The Google Voice $10 transaction is the only transaction listed. As far as I can tell, this proves I didnt use Google Checkout in the past (say, 4 months ago) and forget about it. Google really did get and use my credit card number without telling me, much less asking me.
My credit card company quickly gave me a refund.
