I'm interested in buying either 25 or 50 disc spindles of Verbatim 8.5gb dual-layer DVD+/-R media. I went to Yongsan and the lowest I could find for a 50-pack was 75k won. If you've got media to spare, please let me know!

Thanks,
Tim

Not sure how much you expected to pay, but 75k won for a spindle of 50 is actually a good deal. Even back in the states, they cost around $80 for a spindle of 50. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817130050&cm_re=verbatim_dl_50-_-17-130-050-_-Product

Wow, guess you guys are right. I've been out of the loop concerning DVD media for a while now and just figured they'd be cheaper. Still farkin' expensive for some reason... checked my favorite place for DVD media: supermediastore.com and I should probably track down that guy that overed me 75k.

If anyone else is interested in that price, the guy who gave me that price works at G.A.S. If you enter the underground vijyagame market on the side with the giant sign of a PS3, it's the third store down on the right from the entrance. Nice dude, speaks English surprisingly well, and gave my box the Yongsan treatment + a 250gb HD upgrade for about 150k won.

Doesn't play Wave 4 games but I found a nice utility that patches Wave 4 (AND WAVE 5!!!) ISOs to any wave you want with 2 clicks of your mouse.

EDIT: The fact that DVD DL prices are still this high kind of makes me sad. When the f*** will BR burning ever become feasible? I've got terabytes of stuff that could be backed up SO much faster on 25gb/50gb discs... *sigh*

Why not just buy a couple extra hard drives? Bit for bit, DLDVDs are more expensive than hard drive space.

I've done that for some time, but hard drives just don't last (5 years avg--although I haven't had any of mine die yet, and some are 7-8 years). I'm too lazy to take the time to transfer huge amounts of data from HD to HD. I agree that the HD thing works for most people, though. I just have stuff I want to archive long-term, such as digital books, comic books, music, and films. I don't really know why I do it--maybe my grandkids can enjoy this stuff in the future?
