I am headed to Taiwain for two weeks in January and just wanted to hear what people have to say about it. I've been reading about taking the high speed train down the west coast, but what about the east coast? buses? trains? car? whats the best way to get up and down the country. also, there are so many hostels online especially in Taipei, any good ones that you would stay at again? Thanks guys.

Kenting is by far my favorite place in Taiwan, located on the southern-most tip of Taiwan. The people are laid back, surfing is great and good diving. If youre there, look for the Fu Dog Surf Shop. Its run by an expat named Sammi, great guy.
