I'm in the market for a new MP3 player and am considering these two options as they are similar in price. I'm aware that I can get other brands for cheaper and possibly with superior functionality but I have used iPods in the past and am quite happy to have another.

That said, if my budget would only allow me one of these two, which would be the better option? I doubt I would use the web browser or any extra stuff included on the Touch as I have a netbook for that. At the moment I am leaning more towards the Nano, simply for the fact that it has double the capacity and is significantly smaller.

What would you suggest?

If you only want it for music then just get the Nano. I like my Touch because it has a subway map and a Korean dictionary on it. Also games to pass the time while on the subway. It is considerably heavier and larger than the nano though so it can clutter your pocket.

I'll sell you my 8GB 2nd gen for 150K. Like new, no scratches & has had screen protection & case since day 1. Earbuds have never been used, original packaging. Selling because I bought a 3rd gen 64GB to handle my music/movie collection.

Not too sure what an iTouch is, but trust me, you'll find yourself using the mobile web capabilities of the iPod touch, especially in Seoul where there are so many open wireless networks.

The subway map app is awesome too.

The iPod touch will have you questioning your netbook's usability. Sure it doesn't have a full keyboard like your netbook does, but it's definitely a feasible pocket computer.

I'd go with the 32GB touch because of the faster performance and space upgrade.

Just sayin'.

Just type in Korea Subway in the app store. There's a really nice free version of an app that I use for the subways in Busan, and it also has all the subways in Korea.

ITOUCH!!!!

It's not even close. I got the 3rd gen 32GB itouch and would never consider a nano. It's all worth it just for the app store. I have the seoul subway map as an app...

I also of course jailbroke my ipod and now can watch tv on my ipod, espn radio, and download every app for free....with installuous....

just google blackra1n

If you want an MP3/music player specifically - go for the Nano.

But, like others have said, the Touch is totally amazing! It's my personal secretary, don't know what I'd do without it!

Only thing is I'm sure the Nano's battery would totally beat the Touch's. My Touch at one year old will last 5 hours of moderate use if I'm lucky.

I'm just curious, what kind of TV can you watch on the iPod when it is jailbroken? I just got a touch about a month ago, and I have been debating if I should jailbreak it. What other advantages does jailbreaking have? I'm not a computer expert either, and my computer's OS is in Korean.
