| Alright, I was told that I won't need a visa (going into Thailand) as the Thai gov't will issue a 30 day tourist visa, but I need confirmation on this from someone who's been there and back (to SK). I do have the re-entry visa for SK. Thanks in advance. |

Americans get 30 days in Thailand with no visa. When you arrive in Bangkok, you get a 30 day "visa exempt" stamp. A "tourist visa" is something slightly different; that is something you get at the Thai Embassy before you go and is good for 60 days.
As long as you have a flight in and a flight out of Thailand within 30 days, you are all set to go; you don't need a visa before you go.
If you don't have a flight out within 30 days, your best option is to go to the Thai Embassy and get a 60 day "tourist visa". Right now they are giving the visas for free; I just picked mine up this morning. |
