How does one politely (without them losing face) get rid of salespeople when one is merely browsing?
p.s. I can't speak korean. Is there any korean gesture i could use? |

Try this: http://www.thepooter.com/
He's got some other vids of him using it in department stores, etc. I guess it all depends on how you define polite, but hey - at least they won't lose face. |

Say, "Eye-shopping"
Put a little Korean accent in it .. 'Aee shoaping.'
That means you are just browsing.
And it's polite enough. |

I walk in circles around the same rack of clothes repeatedly until they stop following me. Either that, or I cross my arms, tilt my head, and stare at them with a blank expression on my face. |

Talk on your phone. They usually won't stand right next to you while you're talking on the phone, and will move away to a polite distance.

Start asking them rapid fire questions in English. Easy peazy. |

Best solution: Don't shop in stores where they do that. The price has been jacked up by 100 - 400% so you can have people breathe down your neck while you shop. Save your money and go shopping in another country for your favorite brands at a reasonable price! |

Just say "Nanuen Goo Kyeong Hae Yo" (나는 구경해요). It means I am just looking around. Koreans say it all the time and it works instantly. |

Apply your username. Fart. Loudly. Audibly. And get a very relieved or scared look on your face afterward.
Or just start sneezing and coughing and saying swine flu, h1n1. |
