wood carvings one of my hobbys but i cant find places that sell sandpaper, do u know where i can get papers of different grades? thanx

your local stationery store. (moon-bang-gu)
hardware stores usually carry much thicker ones though.

where do you get your wood btw? all i could find was about an inch thick. (at a stationery store)

Sorry, I was referring to the sandpaper.

For wood, I would try a hobby shop (I'm not a craftsman myself, just an idea.) Good luck.

np, i just found out some paint stores do carry woods. funny thing is it'd be harder for me to find a paint store.

i don't wanna hijack the thread but if anyone knows where one can buy wood for carving, help me out.

Look for the hardware store, "Cheol mul jeom" (철물점) and ask for "sap-o" (사포).


Most neighborhoods have a hardware store. Look for long handled brooms outside on display.

Alpha (a stationary and art store chain) in Namdaemun market has sandpaper. Also, if it's closer, the art supply store inside Hongik University has sandpaper too.

As for wood, i'd try around the Guro tool market (go to Guru station. The market is on the subway maps). I don't know specifically about wood, but i know they sell scrap metal. I'd be willing to bet that there would be wood too.

thanks for the info. the thing is i'm not in seoul. had no luck with paint shops either.

Volez du bois a cote la rue et carve li. Je ne vais pas achete flippin wood. L'avion trop flippin cher gasssssssssssssssssson. Dee boss man be bad man. Savin every dolla bill for the plane yo. Even one dolla on sanpapa is one dolla too many. Mo k'aller chez moi et fait du bois fenetres et quelques choses avec mes machines vraimont. Korea sont fous gacon.
