Just wanted to hear what you do when it gets cold like this. I've wanted to go running but it's freezing outside and I don't want to join a gym for the last month and a half of my contract. |

I go running after work (11pm) and it's fine, you soon warm up. |

You can do burpees, sit ups, push ups, etc in your place. That's what I do. I hate running. |

start skipping rope. it burns a comparable amount of calories to running and you don't need a whole lot of room to do it.
I second the burpees and push-ups too |

I haven't joined the gym. I just go to my nearest one when I feel like it. Costs 5000 won per session. For that, I can use the gym and use the pool.

Download Bas Rutten's MMA Workout. There are six 30 minute workouts that you can do anywhere. You only listen to them, so you can listen on your ipod or on your computer or whereever. They will get you in great shape and don't require any extras. Go to guba.com to also watch his dvd that explains everything. In particular, the all around workouts are great, but they are all first rate. |

Try climbing steps.
My apt. has 15 stories so that works for me. If yours is only a few levels you can do sets or else find a suitable building and hit them there. |

I do 50 'double punches' for each arm in the horse stance. Start with left arm out, punch right arm then left, that's "1" for the left. Do that 50 times, then switch. Great for the back, lats, shoulders, etc, i do it first thing in the morning before eating.
Also 50 body weight squats. Burpies look like a good idea too but I don't have enough room in my mess of a room. |

Download the P90X program from a torrent site!!!
Get yourself an exercise band, and have at it.
If you cant find it on a torrent site..drop me a PM with the address. Even though you are a tarheel (I am from NCSU) I'll send you a DVD Rom with the complete program.
Awesome workout, and works great at home! |

I ran outside in Korea. I run outside in Canada in the winter (you just need proper gear) unless its under -20 then its the Gym threadmill.
In Korea, the winter was mild where I was (Busan).
But if the cold affects you (it does bother some people, especially breathing the cold air) then hit the Gym threadmill. Take up swimming at an indoor pool. Take up another aerobic intensive sport like tennis or badminton. Do some Martial Arts.
I took up boxing while in Korea (back in 1998). I found a cool boxing gym near my appartment back then..it was run by an ex-professional boxer. He basically offered two options: training for boxing without sparring or with sparring. I decided to forgo sparring. The training is excellent and of course indoors. I did that 2 times per week plus my 3 weekly runs (5-6K each).
I am sure there are numerous other options out there. |
