I was asked to fill in a Renewal Application this morning and asked when we would be presented with contracts my co-teacher briefly showed me the contract and said they are running from January to December next year.

I asked why and he said he wasn't sure but he will find out. My contract runs until March 23rd so why would they offer a new contract before the old one is finished?

Is this a move to stop paying bonuses, pay rises and flights? It seems like it is...

Very strange. I have been allowed to go home early because of exams and should find out more tomorrow.

In that case, ask your co-teacher if you'll receive two salaries (1/1 - 2/23) since you'll have two overlapping contracts.
