This is the coolest street...

Reese and Samuels decided to turn their properties into refuges for persecuted writers from around the world. They made Pittsburgh a member of an international project called Cities of Asylum, and they raised moneymuch of it their ownto bring writers to the row houses on Sampsonia Way for two-year stays, with expenses and medical care paid.

BASICALLY...a street of international asylum seekers who are also writers who are given expenses, medical care, etc. and encouraged to live on this one specific street of row houses in Pittsburgh....kinda cool. Cool

If you click on the link, a Chinese poet covered his house in Chinese poetry...looks cool.

I was reminded of Grub Street, which was in a poor part of London long ago (200 + years) which I had heard of in a very good novel called "New Grub Street". Some big names sprang from there or near there, such as John Milton and Samuel Johnson.

That does sound cool.

I also heard of that novel - New Grub Street - from reading Paul Theroux travel books and his other non fiction. Haven't got my hands on it yet though.
