This is a bit of a spin-off from the 'Getting serious about ESL' topic. As I'm considering a postgrad in ESL, I've really appreciated all of the discussion here on Dave's about the Masters in TESOL/AL.

There has been a lot of talk about how (if) they help you make more money and get better jobs but little on how they help you teach.

So here are some questions for those who have completed or are currently completing an MA in TESOL or Applied Linguistics.

1) What did you learn?
2) How has it helped your teaching practice?
3) What aspects of the course were most beneficial?
4) What limitations or problems did you encounter studying online?
5) To what extent was it worth it?
