Does anyone know where I can find nutmeg, heavy cream, and what they are called in korean?
I want to make eggnog but all I have so far is eggs, sugar, and milk
Any help would be much appreciated. |

You can buy nutmeg at any of the big department store food marts, and probably Lotte Mart. I think I even saw nutmeg at an EMart once. If you can't find it there, go to the foreign food marts in Itaewon. They might have heavy cream there too.
I used to buy whipping cream when I needed heavy cream (it's all my local store had), and just halved the sugar the recipe called for. It usually worked out pretty well. You might be able to find whipping cream at your local grocery store.
Nutmeg is 넛멕 i think, and I'm not sure about heavy cream, but cream is the same (크림) |

I have not found nutmeg at costco, emart, or homeplus in my location (yeongdeungpo costco, mokdong emart & homeplus). I have found whole cloves at homeplus. If you are in a pinch, you can substitute ground cloves for nutmeg, just use a smaller amount.
We ground our cloves in a pepper mill.
Hope you have better luck looking through the foreign food mart in itaewon - i haven't made it out there yet. |

Both Hannam Market and Haddon House have nutmeg (both places are in Hannam-dong, near Itaewon). |

You can also die if you eat too much nutmeg. |

Nutmeg is mildly toxic so if you eat enough it can make you delirious but not truly high. You can die if you drink too much water, However, to answer the OP's question I'm sure the foreign stores around Itaewon carry it - and I'd be surprised if you couldn't get it at Costco. |

Go to the Foreign Food Mart in Itaewon, but instead of buying the powder (which has a much weaker flavour), buy the whole nutmegs instead. You'll get a much better flavour and a longer lasting ingredient. You just need to make sure that you have a small grater or microplane at home. |
