|
|
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm trying to book a flight to Manila for vacation, and the Cebu Pacific website keeps declining my cards. I'm using US-based cards. Do they not accept US cards?
I've seen posts online saying that Cebu Air only accepts Filipino cards, but I can't imagine this is the case as I've seen a number of people on Dave's who claim to have flown with this carrier.
Any advice? Trying to book this today... |

I tried to book with Cebu online this summer and had my card declined twice. I called my bank in the states (who I had the credit card through) to see what the deal was... they said because it was from asia (high fraud region) and for something expensive they just automatically decline them. stupid, i think.
anyway, they cleared the "hold" on that purchase and told me to try again and the next time it worked.
maybe that's your problem... |

| I booked two round trip tickets with Cebu Pacific last week on a Wachovia visa card and it went through. I would imagine that the above poster is correct and your bank is refusing the charge because it's an unusual transaction. Just call your bank and ask them to allow the charge through. This happened to my boyfriend twice last year when booking flights to Costa Rica. |

for what it's worth, you can get a lot more hassle trying to book with Cebu than with the other airlines heading towards the Philippines. Not saying this happens to everyone, but I felt very inconvenienced when I flew with them a few years ago.. all to save around $100USD.
I won't do it again.. |

| I booked with cebu air and got a confirmation number, but no e-tickets. Will I just use the confirmation number at the airport, or should I expect to receive e-tickets? |

Go back to the website with your confirmation number and use that to get and print your e-ticket. |

| I had my US based debit card authorized for use in korea and Philippines. When I bought my tickets on CEBU website I had no problems. E-ticket was sent to my email immediately. Getting a flight on time is another matter. Cebu airlines is notorious for delayed flights. |

Thanks everyone for your responses!
Calling the card company worked. I'm set for the Philippines! Thanks again. |
