How does one go about becoming a member of the Broughton club? Should I simply go to the embassy and enquire?

The Broughton Club is actually open to any nationality. There are Brits,
Aussies, Americans etc. However, the average age is probably over 30
and the jobs are varied. There is also a maximum number of members
and, as such, membership is extremely limited. Applicants are also
vetted and must pass through security to gain entrance. So, you can
apply (the forms are available at the embassy) but if your on an E2 and
have been here a relatively short time, I would say your chances of
being accepted are slim.

I was accepted on my second attempt and I have been here since 1996.
They don't hate teachers, they just want a stimulating mix of professions
and backgrounds.

Thanks for the reply. I will go to the embassy and ask for the application forms. I've been here for over three years. Maybe not long enough just yet but it's worth a try.
Thanks again.
