I'm going to Boracay in early Feb, flying into Cebu. From what I understand, due to new flight regulations at the Caticlan airport, the only airline currently flying there is SEAIR. Is this correct?

I know the other option is flying into Kalibo and taking a bus. Has anyone done this?

Anyone have additional info on this?

I have not yet been to Boracay, but several weeks ago came to the same conclusion after researching: only SEAIR currently flies to Caticilan.

Yes, the only airline flying into Caticlan is SeaAir. the reason is that a couple of the others skidded their a319s off the end of a wet runway so it was closed to all but the small LET17s that SeaAir flies and a few of the Dash 7/8s that are rated for STOL.

Flying into Kalibo means taking a 2 hour van ride (V-hire in the local terminology) from there to the pier at Caticlan for the 20 minute banka ride over to Boracay.

I took van from Kalibo to Caticlan. The highway is very good so its a comfortable ride. I didnt see much scenery since got in at night, but if you arrive during the day, it might be a nice drive.

We flew Cebu Pacific Air from Manila to Kalibo and they had a free bus to take us to Caticlan... Then you take a tuk tuk to the boat dock then you take the boat to Boracay and then you take a tuk tuk to your hotel... It's a big production... This was a problem for us as our flight from Kalibo back to Manila was early in the morning... We actaully left Boracay the night before and hired a car in Cataclan to take us to Kalibo and we stayed at some really strange place there for only one night so that we didn't have to wake @ 4:00 AM to make our flight... We had heard that the Cataclan airport was closed because the runway was too small for the planes that they where bringing in... They had 3 crashes inside of 6 months and got shut down.
