|
|
I'm looking for a good winter jacket at a decent price. I'll be outside quite a bit on my trip to Beijing, so I'll need something good. I bought a crappy knock-off Northface at Dongdaemun and I'm regretting it now.
Any suggestions of a brand/where to get it. I don't want to spend a ton of money (a real Northface is probably out of the question). |

Don't forget that sizes in China are going to be even smaller than they are here in Korea.
If you're a big guy at all, don't even risk it.
My old roommate wore a M or L American - wears an XL or XXL Korean and the one jacket he purchased in China, a XXXL won't zip close. |

This is a bad idea. Those women, with their little red waist coast and toothy smiles, will eat you alive. There is nothing more amusing than seeing overweight white guys walking around with filled up black bags and big smiles on their faces....oh 200 yuan for a polo shirt 'you so handsome' thats only $30 I'll take 5. |

I think that the best bang for your buck is the U.S. Military Navy Pea Coat. It's 100% wool and very warm. A nice aspect of the pea coat is that they stay warm even when they're wet. I've had mine for five years and I swear by it.

In my case, I wear a Patagonia overcoat thats more than 15 years old, and its as good as new.
Recently I bought a Claiborne (export quality and size) leather jacket in Itaewon.
The leather is thick and heavy and it does a good job of keeping warm. |
