How much will you spend ?
Whats a good present to get her ?
Do they expect as much as people from the west do ?
I've only been in Seoul a few months and i'm not sure what the standard is out here. Also she is not really my girlfriend just someone who I spend my weekends with.
Anyway any advice would be great.
Cheers! |

Buy her an oven and tell her to get in the kitchen. |

it all depends on the situation including what kind of relationship you have going on and how much you like the girl, but i'd say one present between 50,000-100,000 won is a pretty good standard for christmas for a run-of-the-mill boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. as for what to get, it's pretty similar to what you'd get a girl back home in my opinion: jewelry, electronics, or anything that would be special to her and show you care.

Ovens are too expensive. Plus, that means you expect her to move in with you. Do we really want our significant others taking up what little free space we have in our apartments?
Anyway, I need suggestions, too. |

Christmas is not a big deal here, and gifts are not that common amongst Koreans at this time of year. If she's not your girlfriend I wouldn't spend that much but, as already stated, you know the relationship dynamic better than us, you know what kind of girl she is.....so buy her whatever you think she will like. A few gifts that don't cost a fortune but show that you know her and put more than a fraction of a thought into will mean far more than if you just buy her an expensive piece of jewellery or a bag (and believe me, the kind of jewellery or bags or whatnot that most Korean girls really want to get as a gift cost far more than just 100,000 won). Buy her something that will become of sentimental rather than monetary value. |

you guys are some cheap bastards. 100,000 won? i spend that in 3 hours on a friday in hongdae. i can't justify spending that low on my gf. adding that i make 50,000 an hour. i mean i suppose it all depends on the relationship. if i were back home i would spend more than that for sure. it depends on what kind of person you are. for most of you maybe, kebabs and a 22oz of hite is a nice date.
as for gifts. books are great(if she can read), i pod, vibrator, gloves and something sexy to sleep in for these cold nights. those are my gifts im giving this year. |

How is this even a question? Have you ever had a girlfriend who could not read? |
