Yeah, I used to work for Global Language Institute in Gumi and it was the worst place ever to work at. Didn't follow contract at all, had to work weekends when I wasn't supposed to, ended up working a split shift every day when they originally told me it was only daytime working hours, they fire teachers on a regular basis, don't pay their employees on time. They hire psychotic suicidal directors (at least mine was, or this is what he told me right after getting off the plane over a bottle of soju), and the place was very poorly run and they end up blaming you for a poorly designed curriculum that they designed and make you teach that you had no input into whatsoever! Not to mention they still owe me 1 million won.
All that being said though, the foreigner community is Gumi is outstanding! I miss some of the friends I had there. Yeah, I would definitely stay away from Global altogether! |

Gumi has always had lots of nice expats. Good to know you met some of them.
Take good care! |
