I am on an E2 visa, have an ARC, and am working for a very unorganized employer. I am leaving the position I have held since July 15 on January 8. The parting is mutual and the school has agreed to provide me with a letter of release as I plan on finding a new job and staying in Korea until July.

What should be included in the letter and whom do I present it to? I am assuming that the letter spares me the task of gathering and submitting the docs for an E2 visa again, but my knowledge of the law is minimal. Could a clued in individual let me in on the law? Thank You!

LOR Sample:

You present the letter to kimmi at the time you apply to change employers. Your new employer would prob also want to see it just so they know that you wont have to apply for a completely new visa and that you can save them some time and cash.

To make use of an LOR to transfer to a new employer, you must not have any time gap between the jobs. You need to find a new job that starts immediately after your old job ends. There is also a 9 month requirement to be able to transfer jobs. If you havent completed at least 75% percent of your current contract, kimmi may not allow the transfer and you could be required to apply for a new visa.

That said, there are exception made sometimes. If you are transferring to a public school, the 75% rule is usually waived. Kimmi, being traditionally inconsistent in applying its own rules, people have been known to transfer from public to private or private to private without completing nine months, but dont count on it cause it prob wont happen.

Call immi and ask them for clarification.
