My situation:

I am already in Korea, partway through a contract with a hagwon on jeju. For reasons I don't care to discuss, things aren't working out, and my employer and I will be parting ways.

As I understand it, this is the time of year that SMOE hires public school teachers. And, since I'm already in Korea, I was wondering if it's possible to apply through them directly, or is it necessary to go through a recruiter.

Does anyone have tips on this?

WARNING!!!!
SMOE WILL NOT HIRE DIRECTLY
! you need to go through an agency like Workandplay or footprints.
Also to be warned SMOE sounds like it will be using GEPIK in future recruiting operations. Something that may end up changing the dynamics of future placements.

Well that was easy. I guess I'll apply through GEPIK then.

Thanks!

GEPIK WILL NOT HIRE DIRECTLY!
THESE ARE PUBLIC SECTOR JOBS. THEY HIRE BY AGENCY ONLY. SCREENING APPLICANTS IS UP TO THE AGENCY.

You should apply directly to an agency that places with one of the programs.
