does anyone know the min/max delivery time difference for air parcels and surface parcels for the korean post? also, i can't find the cost of the EMS (express mail service), only the delivery time.

the website is definitely not that useful...

Err it depends where you are sending them to.

In general I've found stuff to arrive within 3-12 days to the UK. However my family are waiting on a christmas card which was sent about 5 weeks ago now. But the post in the UK is terrible at this time of year, and that is out of the Korean post's hands.

I've no idea about sending to N. America or Zimbabwe or Uruguay or New Zealand. Where are you sending stuff to?

oops, yeah, i guess that information would've helped! Wink i'm sending it to the uk too. did surface take 5 weeks? i have to meet a deadline for school, so i need the most reliable service possible from the korean post. i suppose it's best to just use the EMS although it'll be expensive. thanks for your help!

HA! And I thought that everyone who missed out the destination was from the US!

Surface takes.. longer. Five weeks on a good day, maybe 8 or 10 weeks otherwise.

Air is USUALLY less than a week. Now Christmas is over it should be in that timeframe.

Good luck.

Also, order me some proper tea.

I always just ems. It is only a tiny bit more expensive. To send stuff to australia takes about 3-4 days. It is pretty fast imo. As stuff sent from australia takes 5-8 days.

I usually use EMS - but its VERY expensive.

I just sent 4 pieces of paper to my home-country (application for criminal police certificate) and it cost 17,000won (for 4 pieces of paper)!!

Once before I sent one thin-small-book and a brochure to my parents (about Korea as they are planning on coming here this year) it cost 40,000won!!

Each time the postal lady told me 3~4 working days, my parents told me the thin-book and brochure arrived 8-days after I sent it.

I think Air-mail is much cheaper and the same time 8 days.

But the postal-ladies always insist on me sending EMS, and I don't know how to tell them, NO! Just airmail.

I think airmail is best for documents. We sent parcels through EMS for Christmas and they were only 30,000 won each, and got there fast!

EMS has a weight threshold. Meaning you can have "xx" grams or kilograms for a set price. Look at the charts.
