Steam is having a big sale on games this holiday season. I'm looking to buy a few.

On that note, I want some FPS games that have good multiplayer value. I enjoyed the Battlefield series immensely. There were plenty of servers and many worked well from Korea and there were even some Chinese and Korean servers with very low-ping.

However, lately I tried Team Fortress 2 and found that there were very few servers that had acceptable ping.

Has anyone had some recent experience with playing multiplayer FPS in Korea? Could you tell me which games you had a good server experience with?

I'm not really interested in Nexon or other Korean game servers. I'm looking for popular, well-known English language games like Left 4 dead(1,2), FEAR, CS, and the like.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I've found cod4 (not the new one, that sucks) has plenty of servers with a decent ping.

BF2 only has one Korea server and a couple of others with borderline acceptable ping these days.

Counterstrike has plenty of Korean servers, but Korean servers are nearly always shit, either running total vanilla with too many players, or bloody zombie mods.

Borderlands is almost impossible to find a server without a 1 second delay when firing a gun.

The international connections suck so badly in this country, the pings to japan are pathetic; I don't believe Korea can make these grand claims about their internet superiority until they get their international pipes sorted out.

strange??? What internet plan are you on???

I play BF2 on U.S servers with acceptable ping...as do a few other people in Korea that i know. I also play counter strike:source everyday with no trouble-sub 5 ping, good servers (16, 24, 30 slot)...korean servers are very good imo..There are alot of zombie mods, but filter your search with kr or kor and youll find plenty of decent servers. I also play on japanese and Chinese servers with no trouble.

I have borderlands but havent tried it on my laptop-bought it for when im back home.

LfD2 is the only game i have had trouble with.
