I just moved and well, I found this after the fact but there was a scratch on the plastic door of my washer and quite a few of my things that got damaged in the process of moving.

Worse, I tipped my movers 50,000 won and what I got out of it was @#$#!!!

Yeah, you have to discover this stuff immediately before they leave. They will do their best to hide it, too.

The movers moved my office at work from 4th floor of one building (using a lift) to another. They dropped my plastic coat rack 4 stories, and it broke. They said they would fix it. I saw it in my office later that afternoon, and it was standing up straight like it had been fixed. I put a coat on it the next day, and it collapsed in a heap. They just propped it up to look fixed. I called and complained, and was told that I would get no reimbursement because I didn't file a claim the day it happened.

Bunch of crooks.

Laughing well, look at it this way, you gave those movers the biggest laugh, and for the rest of their lives they will be telling that story at the soju tents, how one white guy gave them a 50,000 won tip AFTER they ransacked his stuff. Very Happy
they must think you are Mr. Bean

I moved the contents of my home from the states to Korea this fall -- I think we went with Lotte for moving companies. Nothing was broken, and only a few cheap picture frames were cracked, and I glued them. They weren't cheap, but there are companies which do a good job.

I realise tipping isn't customary here, but does that change with removal people, or other big jobs?

It's customary to buy them lunch, but not to give extra cash above the agreed upon price.

I've used movers twice. The ones where they pack everything for you, move it, and then unpack it.

Never had anything broken.

Same with me. They were also very fast! We bought them some lunch, and a few beers. The only thing missing was my WD40!

They busted a bed frame and a table. I didn't notice either until they were gone.

My friend had his fridge broken and the movers said they'd pay for it, then later said they couldn't afford to.

So you love to laugh at someone's misfortune? You must be from France.
