I just moved to Itaewon (Haebongchong area), and I needs fast internet. I've read and heard lots about NESPOT, and I'm wondering if I can connect to this from my home, or only from specific locations in Seoul...

Does anyone here use Nespot as their home internet connection? Is it fast? Etc...

Thanks in advance...

Have it at work, and it works moderately well for low-end classroom use (i.e. visiting such sites as Starfall.com, FunBrain.com, Yahooligans, etc.). I can acces it at home as well and have used it to check e-mail on a couple of occassions when Megapass was down. Would never think of using it exclusively, though, as downloads take forever. Case in point, I purchased three e-books Friday and made the mistake of trying to download them at school. Took me 40 solid minutes to get a 6 MB, 7.5 MB and 9 MB file.

If you get NESPOT at home, basically KT hooks up a wireless modem into the wall and then you can have the computer anywhere. Or if you have a laptop, you can haul your laptop around without issue. The wireless adaptor is good for about 400KB/s.

The modem also comes with a LAN jack if you want to hook up a router for sharing access, or have one computer with full speed access. So basically the laptop and far-flung computers are on 400MB/s wireless cards, and the direct connect LAN line hooks into the server for super crazy speed.

With a NESPOT account, if you pay an extra 10,000 Won a month you can log into anywhere you can get a signal. So if you are at the park and someone nearby has a modem, you can automatically connect to it. As well they have public places set up like at the airport so you can read the Internet while waiting for a friend to arrive, for example.
