I need some advice on what I should be asking for from my school when I extend my contract.

I am due to finish my 1st year working at my Hagwon in Feburary having worked there for a year. My school director wants me to stay on for a longer period of time(as the hagwon has just moved-does not want class disruptions) - and I have agreed in principle to work until November.- this suits me quite well as Feb is a bad time to come home for me.
I am not going to go home until then.
I need advice on what I should be asking for when I extend my contract by 9 months.

Should I receive my bonus payment 2.1 million in Feburary and can I ask to get paid a bonus payment when I leave in Nov maybe 1.675million?
I am obviously saving my school a lot of money as they are not paying for someone else to fly out and back.
Also, can I expect extra holiday that I would have got if I had gone home.
Also, can I ask for a payrise maybe 200,000 having worked for a year.
I will also be going to Thailand in November so can I get a flight there or just ask for the cost of a flight to England.

I am going to meet my director soon to discuss the terms but I would like some advice on what I should be asking for for my best finanical interest.

I apolagize if this is a little confusing.

First of all. It isn't a bonus, it's a your severance.
Secondly, you'd have to negotiate that. Get it in writing.
Technically if you stay longer, then they'll end up paying you more anyhow.
So if you get it contracted.
It's always alright.

It sounds like you know what you want.
The paper part of a contract means nothing in Korea. Use it as a guideline to draw out what you want and use it as a MEMORIAL of what was agreed upon. Use the words "I remember" when discussing what you agreed to. Come November you should get what you wanted with out incident.
Don't count on the 1.6 for completing just a portion of a 1 year term. To get the 200,000 in salary raise should be compensation enough.
Good Luck
Keep us posted as to how well your procedures are going!

Make this easy on yourself.

Have all obligations from your previous contract fulfilled before agreeing to work one day more. That way you will be sure that you will get all the money due.

If you do work past your contract date, make sure your hogwan clears it with Immigration. This means that YOU need to go to Immigration with them and fill out some forms. A lot of hogwans don't want to do this for a partial year, but it must be done for you to be LEGAL.

If things like this are being said, then be very, very skeptical. Make sure your owner pays you what's owed. Then worry about working longer.
